Road / River in the Middle of Sana Qadim

Smart tunnel in Kuala Lumpur is no longer new idea once we see the road/river in middle of Old Sana. It is the main boulevard if you wish crossing the middle of the city.

When the rain comes, water from all over will run into the main road which then becomes the main river in the middle of the city.

I told my Omani students in my classes that what you all are seeing is the gate way to Yaman during my visit last March 2009. Of course they all were laughing! what they saw were more funny that what they thought what Yemen is.

Than I showed them the next slide...

Then I showed them the actual Yemen gate way at present. Surprisingly to most of them, Yemen looks like Oman especially the taxis with yellow color.
Of course, that old picture was taken from museum I visited the other day.
Well - we just have to experience ourselves in order to know what the reality of life.

River Flows After 2 Years

In the normal days, the 'wadi' (river) is used as a parking and an open area market place.

For the pass 2 years there wasn't any water flew in this river until last 1st April.

It was on the night before when the rain came until in the morning. During the day, the sky was clear and there wasn't any drop of rain.
Just before sunset, the 'wadi' (river) was full of water and the flow was very strong brought along the flow several cars whose owners weren't aware of the situation.
